Phoenix Underwater Exploration Club

About Us

Hello and welcome to the Phoenix club web site. This site is designed to tell you a little about ourselves, and if you like what you see we hope you will come and join us.
The club was first formed as a private organisation in 1978 when the West Midlands Police Underwater Search unit closed it’s doors to civilian members. There where initially twenty five members, and they met at Bilston baths, this venue was held until 1985 when the club moved to it’s present location which is Sneyd Community School.
Membership has held steady between twenty five and thirty five, as you can see we are not a large club and everyone gets to know each other a happy atmosphere always prevails.
We are members of the British Sub Aqua Club ( BSAC for short ) and we provide scuba diving training from complete novice up to advanced diver level and above. We have use of a swimming pool and a classroom at Sneyd Community School where we meet once every week at 8 pm on a Monday night except for bank holidays, for training, keep fit in the pool or just to socialise in the bar.
Dives are planned throughout the year in this country and abroad. Sometimes using our own rib which is shown to the left.
If you want to know more about us or any activity's or trips check out the rest of the site, e-mail the address below or come and visit us.
